Sumatera Utara 2

Language Barrier

Bahasa Indon or watever language it is called is quite hard 2 undst when spoken by the locals there but when listening to the radio, the language is still understandable. Basically they sounded so 'malay' with a slang.

wang - uang
universiti - universitas
Ogos - Augustus
Julai - Juli
Akaun - Akuntasi

Accomodation

The place where I sleep & eat during my stay there. Every1 stay under 1 shelter. Even the GM & Financial Controller. They are both M'sians working in Indon and there are 2 more Chinese Malaysians from Muar there. They all made my stay in Indon easier.

Transportation

My main mode of transport in Indon! Of course i dont have to drive myself lo.. Got driver ma! But in the area I went, hard to c those normal 'Sedan' cars...Mostly i saw this 4 wheels & most if not all are Toyotas!!! The their toyota sure got this "KIJANG" word de...no matter wat model

Experiences
One think that caught my attention there is that most of their road do not have lines in the middle so at times mmg susah to differentiate between 1 way n 2 way. Then right, in the middle of the road pula ada tong tong then ada orang duduk in the middle of the road holding a net pula.. I fikir & fikir also cant think of the logic of sitting in the middle of the road with net. So I ask the financial controller, & he told that they are 'fishing' for donations for masjid!! Can you digest that? Haha...
Then, I don't think you would 1 to drive in Indon. They used their car's hone all the time, to signal to the drivers in front to 'GET OUT OF MY WAY' & 'I AM OVERTAKING U!' Driving in Sumatera was really stressful. Even me as mere passenger felt the tension-ness!
The 'trishaws' we used to know here are different there. Instead of using bicycle to get it moving, they used motorbikes pula! hehe. They dont have to wear any helmet or any protections too! A ride through the dusty streets in the evening will bring you to the scene of mothers carrying their child siiting outside their 'badly conditioned' house by the road staring blankly & chatting away. They seemed contented despite their simple & limited life!
